The Grande Canal was the 'highway' of Venice; every man and his boat went down here.

I tried to get this photo between midday and the afternoon, but there was far too much foot traffic to get a shot without anyone in it. Instead I took this at around 7:30am, after I finished taking sunset shots.

This hotel was on the Grande Canal. I took this on the way back to the hostel at around 8:30am.

I'm not too sure if it's an iron horse, but it's the name I chose. These horses were on top of the Basilica San Marco.

What can be more romantic then drinking champagne on a gondola in Venice? I took this photo leaning over the edge with burst fire rate for HDR - the dynamic range was too high.

It's a moon, next to a clock. Moon time!

These small shrines were scattered all over the place and were worshiped by many people going home from work. None of them had any real flowers thou.

I was fortunate enough to witness, and capture, this massive sail boat heading into port. Seriously, I've never seen a sail boat that big before, it's even being supported by a tug-boat!

Walking down the busy pier, I was fortunate to see this photo opportunity and quickly setup camera/tripod. I took a few photos and only managed to get this one without anyone else in it. You wouldn't know it by looking at the photo, but this place was soooo busy.

Shortly before taking the sailboat photo this monster of a ship cruised in for port. You can just see the line at the front of the boat being pulled by a tug-boat. Again, HUGE!

Another drunken night out. I think this is the place where I lost my viewfinder piece.

Taken around 7:30am, the sun doesn't hit the square till later on in the day, at which time there are too many people.

I smashed down a couple of beers at the hostel soon realising I was late for the sunset. So I grabbed my kit and drunkingly ran to the other side of Venice. I thought the photos I took were crap, but this one was a happy surprise (even while drunk!).
